The RESTORE Trial opened on 25th November and we are pleased to announce that 29 hospice sites have now been recruited with a further six hospices on the waiting list. There are 26 sites in England, two in Scotland and one in Wales.

The Research Trial team has met with 11 sites to discuss what engaging with the research project entails and there are a further 11 meetings planned for the new year. Nine sites are now actively recruiting ten to 20 individuals to participate in the trial. Once all participants in each hospice have consented to taking part, their hospice will be randomised to either the RESTORE course or the Control groups. Control groups will receive RESTORE at the end of the data collection period (approx. six months).

We aim to run our first RESTORE Course live groups in January 2026.

RESTORE is a twelve-week blended learning course of workbook, and audio visual material interspersed with live facilitated sessions delivered by one of our psychologists. All participants will complete online questionnaires about at four timepoints.  Our study will show whether RESTORE leads to improvements in staff wellbeing compared to access to usual wellbeing support.
