David is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh. He is also a Fellow of the Association of Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS), and a Peer Reviewed Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Trainer. David is an experienced practitioner and researcher in the field of ACT for persistent health problems, staff wellbeing, oncology and palliative care. Outside of work David is the father of three children, plays guitar and sings in a band, takes Karaoke way too seriously, and is a black belt in karate.

Anne is a Marie Curie Senior Research Fellow in Clinical Psychology at the University of Edinburgh, and Honorary Research Lead for Marie Curie Hospice Edinburgh. Anne has significant expertise in conducting research on mental wellbeing for people with an advanced progressive illness and has a particular interest in hospice staff wellbeing and organisational issues in this sector. Outside of work Anne enjoys helping coach an U12s girls football team, tango dancing, park runs and spending time with her family and friends in Scotland and Ireland.

Frances is a Health Psychologist based at the University of Edinburgh. She has experience of working in an NHS staff psychology service, and of using ACT to support staff wellbeing, and people living with chronic health conditions. Frances will be involved in delivering some of the RESTORE live online workshop sessions. Outside of work Frances enjoys going for walks in the Scottish countryside, weightlifting at the gym and spending time with friends and family.

Alice is a clinical psychologist based at the University of Edinburgh. She has worked in NHS Adult Mental Health and Clinical Health Psychology services, including Oncology and Palliative Care. Alice has used ACT to support people to cope with the impact of a cancer diagnosis and persistent health conditions. Alice will be involved in delivering some of the RESTORE live online workshop sessions. Outside of work Alice leans in to the simple pleasures of gardening, woodland walks and radio 4.

Palliative Care Community Clinical Nurse Specialist, Marie Curie Hospice Edinburgh

Carrie is a Community Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist based at Marie Curie Hospice in Edinburgh. Carrie has as particular interest in hospice staff wellbeing, and recognises the importance of this in order to provide high quality person-centred care to patients and families. As an experienced palliative care nurse, Carrie’s role is to advise the team on the hospice context, and to help ensure that the study design takes account of the context in which palliative care staff work. Outside of her nursing role, Carrie enjoys spending time with family and friends and being out in nature, especially when exploring with her two young children and seeing the world through their eyes.

RESTORE Trial Manager, Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit, University of Edinburgh

Alix is a Trial Manager based in the Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit at the University of Edinburgh. Alix has worked on a wide portfolio of clinical trials covering a range of health conditions. Her role is to ensure the RESTORE trial is managed efficiently across its lifespan and that meets ethical and regulatory requirements. Outside of work, when she’s not running around after her very active toddler, Alix enjoys gardening, reading and painting.
